MAGNIFICENT PAIR ANTIQUE FRENCH WALNUT ARMCHAIRS, c1880 in BOTANY, New South Wales for sale

Magnificent PAIR of antique French walnut Louis XV open armchairs. This gorgeous pair of armchairs also has a matching two-seater settee or sofa available if a suite is preferred. Definitely antique, and we would date these gorgeous chairs to c1880.
The open armchairs have a timber frame constructed of walnut, a gorgeous mid-brown with a lovely natural patina and mellow tone. They are beautifully upholstered in an olive green cut velvet fabric with a cream ground, which is in very good condition. The timber frame is beatufiul, with sweeping curved form and quality hand-carved decoration, featuring scrolls and leaves, to the top of each chair with aspects of the design repeated on the skirt. The chairs stand on carved cabriole legs, with lovely flowing form. The upholstering is a real stand-out in fabric which is virtually impossible to get these days. The seating is fully sprung for comfort.
Each of the open armchairs measues 63cm wide, 92cm high and 55cm deep.
Condition is excellent. Overall a stunning pair, attractive and very practical for the formal living area.
